Some of you may have received emails from Swim England introducing Level X racing!
Whilst we are under restrictions it means no galas can be held. That includes internal galas and all the normal ones we would take part in. Swim England have introduced Level X as a way of holding a ‘virtual gala’ but being able to do it within a regular swim session.
The idea is to ‘race’ set distances in a session as though it were a gala. For this first series everyone can enter and swimmers aged 9 and above can have their times submitted to Swim England for inclusion on the rankings list.
We will be holding the following sessions of Level X on Saturday 7th and Saturday 14th November at Horwich. We will collate the times and hold as a virtual gala with medals being available for each age group, We want to try and encourage everyone to swim so will include 8s and unders in our ‘gala’, though, their times won’t be submitted to swim England.
As is normal you will need to register to take part and pool limits apply.
If you want to take part on both Saturdays – complete the first registration as far as the payment page then click on register another swimmer and complete for the second week. You will notice there is a charge of £10 per week. This is to cover medals and expenses. You will not need to pay the Leisure Centre on entrance on these days! Unfortunately there won’t be any spectators.
The ‘events’ will be –
7th Nov ; 50m each stroke plus 100IM
14th Nov : 100m each stroke plus 200IM
Swimmers will be put into as near age groups as possible on the day but they will primarily be swimming against the clock!
